With mountainous islands surrounding Tromsø, it’s easy to design a half day out that provides views of the ocean and accesses appropriate ski terrain for the conditions.Within a 30-minute drive from the city center, there are many backcountry ski options to experience skiing over the ocean. Let our guides find the best snow and the right peaks for you and your group.

Equipment is not included when booking a skitour with us. You need to bring your own equipment or rent it beforehand.
Ski touring skis/snowboards/splitboards, rando/snowboard boots, poles, ski skins, ski crampons / snowboard crampons. Make sure the equipment is fitted and ready. Ski/Snowboard crampons are mandatory to bring, conditions can be icy some places, and without our ski /snowboard crampons, we must turn around.
Avalanche equipment: Shovel, probe and avalanche transmitter/receiver.
Backpack 30-40 litres. You need a big enough backpack with room for both avalanche
equipment, extra clothes, food and drink, ski glasses/goggles.Clothes: Wind and waterproof shell jacket and pants, mid layer of fleece or wool, woolen underwear or synthetic fiber underwear. IMPORTANT: Always bring a down jacket, hat and two pairs of mittens/ski gloves (good to wear a pair of thin gloves for the trip up and a pair of warm mittens/ski gloves for the trip down).
Helmet and ski goggles (we always recommend a helmet and ski goggles for the ski trip down the mountain).
Sunscreen and sunglasses (March-May). Headlamp (November-March)
Hot and cold drinks. We recommend at least 1.5 liters in total. Remember food and snacks for a long day out on tour.
Personal medicine, sports tape. Always let us know about medication and daily form before the start of the tour.
Optional
Extra equipment such as ice axe, harness, crampons: This is equipment for special trips and
you will be told by the guide if you need to take any of this equipment with you.If you have one, you can bring a bivouac bag, map, compass, first aid kit and
something to sit on.
